The Character Council of WNY believes by investing in our community to bring awareness of and promote character education and development is not only important but vital in cultivating a culture of character for today and for the future.

As part of our City of Good Neighbors community engagement and in partnership with Harvest Time Partners Foundation, we are proud to offer two programs that do just that.

ECHOS Mini-Grants

“When you Engage Character, you Harvest Optimal Success.”

Public and Non-Public Schools and Youth Serving 501(c)(3) organizations within the 8 counties of WNY ( Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming) may request up to $400 in support of character-based initiatives within the school, organization or community.  Programs/projects should ideally seek to be sustainable, ongoing or create a long lasting outcome…much like an echo.

Character Excellence Scholarships

“Character is the foundation of life-long success.”

Each year we award a number of $1000 scholarships to high school seniors who exemplify good character in their lives, and recognize its continued importance to leading a successful life in the future. Seniors who live within the 8 counties of WNY (Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming) may apply by clicking the link below.

Deadline for applications is February 28th of the senior’s graduating year.
